Scan business cards in Dynamics 365 Sales


This article is developed to help the business user to create a contact in Dynamics 365 CE by scanning the business card. In Dynamics 365 Sales, the business card scanning feature lets you capture information from business cards and automatically populate relevant fields. This feature can help you quickly create or update contact records without manual data entry.

Download App - Dynamics 365 Sales

You can follow these general steps to download the Dynamics 365 Sales app. Please note that the exact process may vary based on your device and the app store you are using:

  • Open the app store on your device. This could be the Apple App Store for iOS devices or the Google Play Store for Android devices.

  • Search for "Dynamics 365 Sales" in the app store's search bar.

  • Look for the official Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales app in the search results. Microsoft Corporation should publish it.

  • Select the Dynamics 365 Sales app from the search results to access its app page.

  • You will find information about the app, its features, and user reviews on the app page. Make sure to review this information to ensure it is the correct app.

  • Look for the "Install" or "Get" button on the app page and tap on it.

  • If prompted, authenticate with your app store account (Apple ID or Google Account) using your password, Touch ID, Face ID, or any other associated authentication method.

  • The app store will then download and install the Dynamics 365 Sales app on your device. The progress will be displayed on your screen.

  • Once the app is installed, you can find the Dynamics 365 Sales app icon on your device's home screen or app drawer.

  • Tap on the Dynamics 365 Sales app icon to launch the application.

Scan The Business Card

To use the business card scanner in Dynamics 365 Sales, follow these general steps:

  • Access the Dynamics 365 Sales web application or mobile app, depending on your device and setup.

  • Please follow the below screen shots.

  • Open the Contact record (on click + ) where you want to add the business card information.

  • After capturing the image, the system will analyze the card and extract relevant information such as name, email address, phone number, company, etc. The extraction accuracy may vary depending on the quality of the image and the system's capabilities.

  • Review the extracted information and make any necessary edits or corrections. The system may not always capture the data perfectly, so it's essential to double-check the results.

  • Save the contact record with the populated information from the business card.
